In the beginning, there was a PS3. It was red, with a crappy blue third party controller. And there was a single PS3 game - Tomb Raider (2013). And it was good.
Except that it wasn't *that* good. Because unfortunately, I have no idea what I'm doing here.
You see, I grew up watching my brothers play video games. I dated many a gamer in my life, and have watched them play also. Everything from Sonic the Hedgehog to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Need For Speed to Crash Bandicoot, to 007, to Borderlands and God of War. But me? I can't even stay alive in Super Mario Brothers. The farthest extent of my gaming cred is that I sometimes played the training course of Tomb Raider II back when I was a kid. And I can rock like a mofo if you give me Guitar Hero.
And that's it. But now, somehow, I've been convinced to actually give gaming a legit try. To put in some time and see what comes of it. I've heard that you can become a world class master at anything if you put 10,000 hours of effort into it. To master gaming in 5 years then, I'd have to put in almost 40 hours a week. That's not going to happen, but maybe I can come up with a more achievable goal. 1,000 hours then? If I can game for 6 hours a week, then I can complete this task in something around 3 years. That still feels like a long time... but doable.
So here we go, along for the ride. I'm going to try to keep a loose log of my time and see what develops.
